The Difference between Positive Pressure and Negative Pressure Air Duct
Both positive pressure air duct and negative pressure air duct are important components of mine ventilation system and play a huge role in ventilation. But there are some differences between the two air ducts, including the materials, properties, functions and so on.
Distinctions in material
The fabric of positive pressure and negative pressure air duct is fire-retardant PVC coated cloth. However, there is no skeleton in the middle of the positive pressure air duct, and the negative pressure air duct is composed of a steel skeleton. In addition, the skeleton of the negative pressure air duct is generally made of carbon steel, one every 10 to 15 cm.
Differences in properties
Positive pressure and negative pressure air duct are different in nature. The internal pressure of the positive pressure duct is greater than atmospheric pressure. On the contrary, the internal pressure of the negative pressure duct is lower than atmospheric pressure.
Differences in functions
The functions between the two air ducts are also different. The function of the positive pressure air duct is to blow fresh air into the places that need ventilation to maintain good air conditions. The main function of the negative pressure air duct is to extract the exhaust gas in the tunnels or mines.
Conclusion
The above are some differences between the two air ducts. In practical applications, we should choose the appropriate air duct according to specific needs and scenarios.
